You'll agree that finding a new, affordable car today is almost impossible, right? Unless we count those Chinese electric cars. But now, the Japanese Nissan Sentra is becoming a real superhero in the car market. Maybe you're asking a very good question: Why? The answer is simple: Nissan is going to stop making its budget model, the Versa, later this year (maybe after the 2025 model year). This means the Sentra will become a very important, entry-level model for the brand.

The 2026 Nissan Sentra will come in four trim levels: S, SV, SL, and SR. - Even though most of the car is new, under the hood you will find the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It makes 149 horsepower and 198.4 Newton-meters (146 pound-feet) of torque, just like before. The Sentra is front-wheel drive and uses only the Xtronic (CVT) automatic transmission.
The new Sentra is slightly longer than the old one. It is 1.02 centimeters longer, with a total length of 465.58 centimeters. However, the wheelbase (the space between the front and back wheels) is shorter by 2.54 millimeters.

The car has a completely new exterior design. It includes an updated version of Nissan's V-motion grille, which is now integrated with the new headlight system.
Even with better aerodynamics, its estimated combined fuel economy is 7.13 liters per 100 kilometers in the city. This is slightly less efficient than the previous model.
New Interior Features

Inside, the Sentra comes standard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen for infotainment, supporting wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also has a 7.0-inch display for driver information.
The returning SL trim is especially noteworthy because it adds many comfort features: Heated steering wheel, Ambient lighting, Auto-dimming rearview mirror, Power sunroof, Synthetic leather seats (quilted), 17-inch wheels

The 2026 Sentra will arrive at dealerships later this year. Unfortunately, Nissan has not yet announced the prices. But we expect it to still be a good, affordable sedan option in the market.
