From August 7 to 16, the air in Monterey is filled with an unusual tension. This is where the Monterey Car Week takes place, where invited guests, with their refined manners and expensive attire, gather to witness something that remains hidden from the eyes of ordinary mortals. This event goes beyond the elements of a traditional auto show. It is a place where the world's wealthiest collectors, engineers, and designers come together.
Eccentrica has returned to the stage of glory! This time, the Italian company has announced the ultra-exclusive Eccentrica V12 Roadster based on the Lamborghini Diablo. Before we talk about this new creation, let’s remember its ancestor. In the 90s, the Lamborghini Diablo was practically the god of the automotive industry. Its poster adorned the bedroom wall of every teenager. This was a car that continued the legacy of the Countach. it was crude, loud, and so wide that driving through the narrow streets of Italy was an absolute nightmare. It lacked modern electronic assistants, meaning that if an unprepared driver sat behind the wheel, it would throw you off the road without hesitation. The Diablo was the symbol of an era, dreamed of and desired by everyone.
Today, Eccentrica has rather high ambitions. They claim that their new Roadster is a worthy successor to the 90s Diablo. They modified the fenders, added splitters, and lightened the wheels to reduce weight. The body is made entirely of carbon fiber, while the chassis construction is based on a carbon-reinforced steel frame. Under the hood, of course, hides a 5.7-liter V12 engine producing 550 horsepower at 7,000 rpm. Torque reaches 600 Nm, and most importantly, the car features a 6-speed manual transmission, just like the old days. Despite losing the roof, the company claims that the Roadster achieves a top speed of 335 km/h, just like the coupe.
The official premiere will take place on Friday, August 14, at The Quail. Production? Just 19 units. The price hasn't been announced yet, but rest assured, it will be just as exclusive as the bank accounts of this car's owners. In short, this new version of the Diablo is a bit like an old rock star who took up yoga, drank a green smoothie, and now tells you they are just as "wild" we shall see, we shall see...
