This is great news for car fans. The global model stopped five years ago, and in the USA (with the name Montero), it stopped even earlier in 2006. Its history has more than three million happy buyers in over 170 countries
The fifth-generation Pajero is completely new. The new model is much more impressive. From the side, it looks a bit like the design of the J250 Prado. It is 4.9 meters long and 1.9 meters tall. This car is comfortable on fast highways and on difficult off-road paths because it has rear and center differential locks.
For the engine, it has a 2.4-liter turbo diesel four-cylinder engine with 204 horsepower, and it works with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. To be honest, I wanted a stronger engine. The main fuel tank holds 80 liters, which is bigger than the old 68-liter tank. Also, the new model has a 17-liter tank for AdBlue.
Inside, the car is surprisingly comfortable and luxury. The cabin has three rows and seats seven people. The flat roof gives a lot of headroom for passengers in the third row. The top models have leather seats, and the interior has modern technology.
The driver and passengers have two big 14.3-inch screens, a strong Yamaha sound system, and three-zone climate control. Even with digital screens, the designers kept physical buttons to make driving easier. The famous Multi Meter is also back. It shows altitude, roll angle, and pitch angle on the screen.
Right now, it is not clear if it will sell in the United States, but the new Pajero will come to about 100 countries before March 2027. It will start in Thailand, then Japan and Australia. The base price starts at $68,490. When will we see it at the Tbilisi Mitsubishi dealer, and will it be as popular as it was in the 1990s?
